Container & Pallet Capacity Planning
Before you can plan freight cost or landed price per unit, you need a realistic estimate of how many rolls fit per pallet and per container. This depends on more variables than it first appears — here’s what actually determines capacity.
What determines how many rolls fit
1. Roll outer diameter — a longer-length roll has a larger diameter and takes up proportionally more space than a short trial-size roll.
2. Packaging format — bulk-packed (loose in cartons) vs. individually shrink-wrapped changes density significantly.
3. Pallet standard — EUR-pallet vs. standard pallet dimensions affect how many units stack per layer.
4. Container type — 20ft vs. 40ft (and standard vs. high-cube) changes total usable volume.
Why we don’t publish a generic “units per container” number
A number that ignores your specific size and packaging choice is more likely to mislead than help — it would need to be recalculated for your order anyway. Instead, when you request a quote with your product, size and target volume, we calculate the actual pallet and container fit for that specific configuration, so the freight cost estimate you get is based on real numbers, not a generic placeholder.
